How to look great in your headshot
3 easy steps
1. Make sure clothing fits.
Wear a well fitting suit or jacket. This slims you down and helps create a nice silhouette in your clothing. Tailored is best.
2. Wear solid colors, the right ones for your business.
Sometimes large prints take over the photo, and the garment looks like it is wearing you. Opt for solids or tiny prints that show as a solid. Busy clothing is not a good idea for a headshot.
In most business settings, navy, black, or brown jackets are a great place to start. For actor headshots, realtors, or other industries, you could explore other colors, or better yet, let's look at shooting multiple colors, and you can decide what you like best.
3. Watch your details.
Skip the distracting accessories and over the top make up. Make sure clothing is freshly laundered and pressed, free of pet hair, or other mishaps. If you need a haircut, please do it the day before because my lens will capture all the tiny hairs on your face and jacket that didn't get brushed away at the barber shop.
Now, we are ready to go! I can't wait to work with you to create some great images for you to use in your business.
