How to Prepare for Petit Jean
I am so excited to offer Portraits on Petit Jean mountain again this year! It is the most beautiful place, and it is just my favorite. It is not an easy session, but it is so much fun and so rewarding when everything aligns.
The weather is the only thing we can't control, but here are some things you can do:
-
Pick a dress you love and in a color you love.
-
You can wear whatever dress you want, but if you choose a short dress, your posing is very limited.
-
I highly recommend a flying dress or at least a dress with a flowy bottom skirt. You can borrow one of mine, or you can purchase your own. Etsy, Joyfolio, and Amazon are great sources.
-
Wear nude colored undergarments or even the same color as your dress.
-
Prepare for a windblown look with your hair, but please come ready to go - clean hair and make up done.
-
If the wind is blowing, we are going to use it!
-
No boyfriends, please. This is a group session, and I want everyone comfortable. The wind has a tendency to blow dresses every direction.
-
If it's cold, bring a blanket. We will take turns until the sun sets, and a blanket is a nice warm break.
-
Moms, I will probably put you to work handling the dress. Please wear sneakers.
